The Museum at the Bighorns will hold its 4th annual Living History Cemetery Tour, Ranchers of Sheridan County, at 7:30 pm Sept. 8 and 9.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Executive Director Danielle Stuckle spoke about the dedication of the volunteers who work to transform themselves into the living embodiment of local historical figures. According to Stuckle, approximately 90% of the effort is studying the history of the individual to prepare for a portrayal. Many of the actors go as far as to make their own clothing, ensuring historical accuracy, Stuckle said.
The Museum is raffling a painting by Sam Iddings in connection with the Cemetery Tours. Raffle tickets are $10 each, or three for $20. The drawing will be held on Sept. 9, with all proceeds going to benefit the Museum at the Bighorns.
Space is limited to 30 people for each tour. Tickets are $25 each and must be purchased in advance at the Museum at the Bighorns, 850 Sibley Circle, or by clicking here.
The museum is asking that attendees meet at the front gate of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. The notable figures portrayed this year will be Homer Scott, Willis Eaton, Don Roberts, Willis Spear, and John B. Kendrick.
