cvannoySheridan County School District 1 board of trustees held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 19 in Big Horn. The board recognized the Big Horn High School Girls Volleyball team.
Board Chairman Clint Krumm introduced the team, saying they won the state championship this year, as well as the great accomplishment of winning back-to-back championships.
Head Coach Allison Nikont talked about the team, saying they only lost one game this year.
“I could not be more proud of what this group of girls has accomplished.”
Krumm added, “we are really, really proud of you guys.”
Brad Gregorich, Principal of Big Horn Elementary School, gave a presentation about BHE and what they are working on this year. The Mission of BHE is Empowerment for Learning: Learning for Empowerment.
“We want to make sure all our students are successful,” Gregorich said.
As the new principal, Gregorich said he had a great deal of feedback from parents and what they value about Big Horn Elementary. He said Big Horn is a high achieving school in academics. Some of the feedback he received concerned school safety, and he said that parents and students feel very safe at Big Horn Elementary School.
He had some photos about Halloween at BHE and talked about the Trunk or Treat event.
There was one visitor, Jana Fraley, who thanked the board for their support for starting an agricultural program at SCSD#1.
The board approved the 2025-2026 calendar option #1 which eliminated the three student contact days in June, instead moving those days into the rest of the year.
Krumm said, “I kind of like it.”
The board also discussed some of the resolutions that would be voted on at the upcoming WSBA Meeting November 20-22.
The board also recognized Trustee Eric Lofgren, who is retiring from the board this year. Krumm said this about Lofgren.
The board presented Lofgren with a card and thanked him for his service on the board.
