Sheridan Commission Ratifies Opioid Settlement MOU
Sheridan County’s Commissioners have ratified a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the county and the City of Sheridan concerning Opioid Settlement Funds.
The MOU specifies that the city entered into and is expecting to receive funds from the One Wyo II Opioid Settlement.
According to the MOU, the uses of the settlement funds are restricted and the city does not have the capability to use the funds in accordance with the rules and restrictions and therefore will be transferring the funding it receives to the county.
According County Deputy Attorney Clint Beaver, the One Wyo II Opioid Settlement is the second round of opioid settlement funds, with the difference between One Wyo I and One Wyo II being the defendants who will be pay the settlement funds, which are Allergen, Teva, CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart.
According to discussions at an earlier commission meeting, the funds will be put to use in the county’s prevention office.
