The Wyoming Department of Transportation district four Wyoming Transportation Department Employees Association (WTDEA) has announced they recently awarded scholarships to two outstanding students.
According to the WTDEA, Lainey Konetzki is the daughter of Larry and Lisa Konetzki of Sheridan. Konetzki has been attending Sheridan College the past two years and will be transferring to West Texas A&M in the fall. With two years of prerequisites and a farrier science certificate in hand she is excited to continue her studies in Equine Industry and Business in hopes of opening her own equine business which will include utilizing her farrier training and passion and experience training horses. Konetzki’s father Larry is WYDOT’s district four maintenance engineer.
Parker Speidel is the son of Rusty and Amanda Speidel. Speidel will be graduating from Sundance High School and plans on attending Northwest College in Powell to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot. Speidel kept busy as Senior Class President and was a member of his local FFA Chapter, National Honor Society, band and golf team. Speidel’s father, Rusty, is the foreman for the Sundance maintenance crew.
WTDEA is a WYDOT internal association whose mission is to “provide direct communication for all WYDOT employees, promote safe, efficient working environments, with positive changes for the future”. Membership is open to all employees. Proceeds from membership helps support the scholarship program.
