Sheridan County Emergency Management Coordinator Jesse Ludikhuize is looking for Sheridan volunteers to learn how to operate a Red Cross Shelter.
Ludikhuize made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program to ask the residents of Sheridan and Johnson Counties to attend a Red Cross Shelter Fundamentals class.
According to Ludikhuize, it is a requirement of the Red Cross to have only trained personnel working in the shelters. The course will teach residents the basic standards and procedures needed to stand up a shelter in Johnson and Sheridan Counties.
The class in Johnson County will begin at 9 a.m. and run until 1 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 31, at the Bomber Mountain Civic Center, Band Room.
In Sheridan County, class begins at 6 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, in the Exhibit Hall of the Sheridan County Fairgrounds.
Ludikhuize does ask for sign-ups by contacting him at 307-675-2569, or Johnson County Emergency Management Coordinator Marilyn Connolly at 307-217-1879. But walk-ins will be welcome.
Bomber Mountain Civic Center is located at 63 North Burritt Ave., in Buffalo. The Sheridan County Fairgrounds are located at 1753 Victoria St. in Sheridan.
