The Drug Take Back Day in Sheridan offers residents an opportunity to safely dispose of potentially dangerous prescription drugs taking up room in the medicine cabinet.

In many cases, doctors will prescribe drugs contained in a blister pack. This type of packaging shows evidence if it has been opened or tampered with, if the drugs in these packs pass an inspection, they will be reused by the Wyoming Department of Health according to SPD Officer Rodney Swaney.

Swaney told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse what happens to the drugs that cannot be reissued.

The Drug Take Back Day offers residents an opportunity to turn in old unused prescription drugs with amnesty; no questions asked. Drug Take Back Day will be held at 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., April 30, in the WalGreens parking lot.
