Sheridan Fire Rescue recently purchased an upgraded breathable air compressor that replaced a compressor that dates back to 1981. The purchase of the new piece of equipment was made as part of the self contained breathing apparatus project of fiscal year 2022. Shortly after the installation of the new air compressor at the Sheridan Fire Station, the Story Volunteer Fire Department expressed interest in acquiring the old air compressor.

A resolution allowing for the transfer of the air compressor to the Story Volunteer Fire Department was approved this week by the Sheridan City Council. Sheridan Fire Chief Gary Harnish.

Prior to consideration of the resolution by the Council, an advertised public hearing on the equipment transfer was held. Other than Chief Harnish’s comment, no other public comments were made during the hearing.
