Johnson County students will return to school on Monday, August 24th, to an unsure situation in their classrooms.

But the Johnson County School Board has developed a “Return to School Plan” to help guide parents, students, teachers and administrators theougbthe current COVID-19 ncrisis.

In the district’s plan, they have identified three delivery models for instruction of students, which are Open – School will start as close to normal as possible;

Hybrid – Combination of in-person and adapted learning; and

Closed/Full virtual – Students would receive instruction at home.

Additionally, they have identified a number of guidelines to lessen the chance for infection.

They are telling those that are sick to stay home, and are requiring sstudents and staff to perform daily screenings before coming to school; requiring hand sanitationupon entering buildings as well as throughout the day; requiring social distancing; requiring face masks in certain situations; offering learning in-person or virtually; offering food services in smaller groups and in larger areas with social distancing; and limiting group sizes in athletic events and activities.

The district has provided additional and more in-depth information on the policies and guidelines on their website, and we have provided the link here:
