The Reno Incident fire, a large fire estimated to have burned approximately 10,000 acres of mostly private land northeast of Kaycee, is in the mop-up stages, according to Powder River Fire public information officer Marylin Connolly.

The fire is believed to have started from a lighting strike in the late evening of June 13, Connolly said. The fire was reported around 7 a.m. Sunday morning.

No injuries have been reported and no structures have been damaged.

Resources on the ground include Johnson County Fire, Powder River, Campbell, Natrona, Goshen and Washkie fire crews.

The fire has been 20% contained and there are no active flames as of this morning. The fire is being monitored closely in the case wind causes flare-ups, Connolly said.
