After having the last 2 weekends off from competition, the Sheridan Hawks boys team has a very busy weekend ahead of them.
The team (7-0-1) will head to Douglas to take on a Laramie-Douglas combination team (1-7) on Friday night and Saturday morning, and then travel to Rock Springs (7-1) for games Saturday night and Sunday morning.
Last year, the season did not go that well for either the A-League and B-League teams, so the team is playing B-League this year which is a JV type level.
Hawks Head Coach Ryan Johnson says so far this season, players have been responding well to being a marked team.
“They take it really well. Honestly if you just work the systems, do the simple things, and try to grind out more goals than the other team, the way our league is set up, going undefeated would be awesome, but it’s not exactly necessary. We just want to go into state with a high seed and state has a little round robin that it’s pretty much single elimination, so if you drop a game there, you’re kind of toast, so regardless of how well you do during the season, state’s the big day, the big weekend.”
After this weekend, the Sheridan boys will be at home on Friday and Saturday, December 20th and 21st vs. Riverton.
