The Sheridan College Women’s Rodeo team had arguably their best weekend of the 2023-2024 season so far this season this past weekend at Casper.

Faith Heim (32.09 seconds total on 2) and Maci DeHaan (32.31 seconds total on 2) finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Barrel Racing event.

Heim was only 0.05 seconds behind the winner.

Those finishes catapulted the women’s team to a 3rd place overall finish for the weekend.

On the men’s side, Clancy Glenn finished 2nd in the saddle bronc riding with a score of 149 on 2 rides.

The Central Rocky Mountain season concludes this weekend at the University of Wyoming.

Competitors earn points based on which place they finish in, at each of the 10 rodeos during the fall and spring seasons.

The top 3 in points standings in each event, at the end of the season, qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR), which is held in June at Casper.

With one weekend to go, the only Sheridan College competitor who has a chance of qualifying for the CNFR, would be bull rider Wyatt Phelps, who sits in 2nd place.

His spot is not secured, because there are a number of other bull riders within striking distance of finishing in the top 3.

All other Sheridan College competitors are too far back in the standings, and even if they win their respective events this weekend, the points that they would earn, would not be enough to catch up to the top 3 in the standings.
