The Wyoming Department of Transportation is studying sections of Coffeen Avenue and Brundage Lane within the Sheridan Urban Systems boundary city limits over the next few months.
WYDOT is conducting this study to evaluate how the streets are functioning from an operational and safety perspective for both motorists and pedestrians and how they are anticipated to function in the next 20 years as the City of Sheridan grows.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, WYDOT Senior Public Relations Specialist Laura Dalles, Stantech Consulting Engineer Jill Rossellott and WYDOT District Traffic Engineer for NE Wyoming District 4 Michelle Edwards made an appearance to discuss the study and alert the public to a survey and comment section on a website seeking input.
Edwards said WYDOT wanted to study the corridor and hear from the public before going forward with a project scheduled for 2028.

According to Rossellott, the study is looking at safety and operational issues from both vehicle and pedestrian standpoints, such as traffic signal timing and access flow.

According to Dalles, crash data is also being studied. The Coffeen intersection with Main Street, Sheridan Avenue, Avoca Avenue, and Brundage Lane being areas that see the majority of vehicular accidents along the corridor.
Now that the data is collected, WYDOT wishes to get input from the public perspective on these same principles before making any decisions regarding road plans. WYDOT has partnered with the City of Sheridan to supply a webpage on the City’s site.
