National Manufacturing Day is held on the first Friday in October in order to teach students, parents, and the public what is happening behind the curtain of many local manufacturers in the Sheridan area.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Marketing and Communications Director Jodi Hartley and Director of Manufacturing Works Tyler O’Daniel spoke on the upcoming tours being offered by local manufacturers during the day.

Coordinated locally by the Chamber’s Business Retention and Expansion Committee in partnership with Manufacturing Works and local manufacturing businesses, residents and visitors will have the opportunity to tour 10 different local manufacturers on Friday Oct. 6.

People will be given the opportunity to see and learn how beer is produced, saddles are made and much more. Sheridan ranks No. 2 in the Cowboy State for the number of manufacturing firms in operation. These firms employ nearly 1,000 residents in 121 different companies.

O’Daniel told listeners that local successful manufacturing of any kind is a testimony to a thriving city and its residents, something he enjoys being a part of in his work.
