Meet The Artists at Ucross Founder’s Day

On Saturday, June 3 from 11am – 2 p.m., Ucross will hold their second annual Founder’s Day, a celebration of their founder, Raymond Plank, at the Ucross Art Gallery grounds at 30 Big Red Lane, Clearmont.

Included in the day will be a behind-the-scenes look at their artist residency program; and a chance visit artists in their studios. There will be live music from Möbius Strings and the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra’s Horn Quartet as you walk the trail between studios and along the creek.

The Ucross Art Gallery will be open with the current exhibition, Field Guide: Teresa Baker + Anthony Hudson + Jessica Mehta + Eliza Naranjo Morse; the historic Big Red Ranch House will be open for tours. Enjoy a picnic on the lawn with Stoked, which will have a food truck on-site with wood-fired pizzas, and Java Gypsy will be offering an array of beverages.

Attendees can also meet several of the artists in residences at Ucross. Artists participating will be nonfiction writer Catina Bacote of Hamden, Connecticut; visual artist Gerald Clarke of Anza, California; photographer Michael Kolster of Brunswick, Maine; Poet Sally Wen Mao of New York, New York; Multidisciplinary creator and performance artist Annie Saunders of Los Angeles, California; Interdisciplinary artist and performer Andrew Schneider of Brooklyn; New York; nonfiction writer and Ucross Trustee Scott Manning Stevens of Syracuse, New York.

Ucross Founder’s Day is free and open to all. Parking is limited, and carpooling is encouraged. Registration is required, so get your tickets at ucross.org.
