Sheridan HS Softball: It’s time for the girls to play ball in Sheridan.
The home opener for the Lady Broncs is today as they will start northeast quadrant play against Thunder Basin in a double-header at the Sheridan College Softball Complex.
Start times are at 4 and approximately 6pm.
This is season number 6 for varsity softball in Wyoming, and each of the previous 5 state champs have been either one Gillette school or the other.
Head Coach Kristen Czaban says the Lady Broncs are working on being more prepared this year to play their rivals compared to last year.
Sheridan is scheduled to play a double-header tomorrow at Campbell County beginning at 11am.
Sheridan/Buffalo HS Soccer: Sheridan starts 4A East Competition this weekend.
Today’s opponent is Cheyenne South beginning at 6pm and tomorrow’s competition is Laramie starting at 12-noon.
The boys play at home, while the girls are on the road.
Buffalo plays a girls-and-boys double-header today vs. Lander, beginning at 3 and 5pm.
Sheridan/Johnson County HS Track and Field: High School Outdoor Track and Field started competition last weekend, but Sheridan, Big Horn, Tongue River, Arvada-Clearmont and Buffalo decided to wait 1 week to prepare.
Buffalo is scheduled to host the Jerry Campbell Invitational tomorrow.
Field events start at 10am and running events at 10:45.
Kaycee is scheduled to compete today at a meet in Burlington.
Sheridan Mavericks/Lady Mavericks Lacrosse: The Sheridan Mavericks start their short season this weekend.
The boys play 1 game tomorrow at home against a JV team out of Billings.
Start time at Bridges Field, or the Old Normative Services facility, is scheduled for 11am.
Meanwhile the Lady Mavericks are the 2-time defending Montana B-League State Champs.
Head Coach Brianna Scholl says the numbers for this year’s team are a bit low, so they’re going to try a new style of game.
The Montana League has a little more Wyoming participation this year, as Cheyenne and Jackson have joined this season.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won last night at Winnipeg 3-2.
It’s part of a home-and-home series and the rematch is tomorrow night in Denver.
Colorado Rockies Basketball: Twenty-four of the league’s 30 teams have started their 2026 season.
The other 6 will start today, and one of those 6 are the Colorado Rockies.
The team will start the season with a 6-game road trip that involves 3 games at Miami, followed by 3 games at Toronto.
First pitch today is scheduled for 5:10pm, tomorrow’s game starts at 2:10pm and Sunday’s game begins at 11:40am.
The home opener is one week from today vs. Philadelphia.
