Sheridan HS Soccer: The Sheridan High School soccer teams are about to get into the meat of their schedules, which is all conference games from here on out.
Both the Broncs and Lady Broncs are preparing to play Cheyenne East and Cheyenne Central, which are 2 teams that are coming off of their spring break.
Boys Head Coach Wade Kinsey says just because the opposition hasn’t played in a couple of weeks, doesn’t mean Sheridan is going to take it easy.
Meanwhile the girls are in a similar situation in what Coach Josh Dube says is a very tough East conference, and the win against Laramie 2 weeks ago, showed how tough it can be.
For this weekend’s games, the boys play at home, while the girls will play on the road.
Sheridan College Rodeo: Sheridan College placed 2 saddle bronc riders in the short-go this past weekend at Colorado State.
Christopher Nelson placed 3rd in the average while Jake Schlattmann was 7th.
There’s only 2 rodeos remaining in the season and in the overall saddle bronc standings, Schlattmann is in 4th place, and you have to be in the top 3 to get invited to compete at the College National Finals Rodeo.
On the women’s side, Maci DeHaan is sitting in 7th place in the barrel racing.
This weekend’s scheduled competition will take place at Casper.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost the first game of their 3-game series at home vs. Milwaukee yesterday 7-1.
Brenton Doyle provided the 1 on a solo home run.
The 2 teams will play again today, starting at 6:40pm.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won last night at home vs. Las Vegas 3-2, winning via shootout 1-0.
The win assures that Colorado will avoid being one of the 2 wild-card teams and can finish no worse than 3rd in the Central Division, with 3 games remaining on the regular season schedule.
The Avs play their home finale tomorrow vs. Vancouver.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets have undergone a major shakeup during the last week of the regular season.
The team has fired both Head Coach Michael Malone and General Manager Calvin Booth.
Several media outlets are reporting the 2 have been having issues with each other, ownership got tired of it, and cut them both loose.
The Nuggets have 3 games remaining on their schedule and play today at Sacramento.
Denver has lost 4 straight and are currently in a 4-way tie for the #4, 5, 6 and 7 seeds.
