Ash Doke Of Big Horn HS Wins Outstanding Citizen Award: One Big Horn High School senior will be recognized later this year for his commitments to the community.

Ash Doke has been named the Class 2A Winner of the 2025 version of the Homer Scott Outstanding Citizen Award.

Each recipient is selected based on nominations from their football coaches, recognizing their exceptional service, volunteerism, and character within their schools and communities.

One student-athlete from each class of football in Wyoming will receive a $500 scholarship, along with an additional $500 to donate to a local organization or program that holds personal
significance to them.

Doke will officially receive his award at halftime of the Shrine Bowl football game on June 14th in Casper.

Sheridan HS Softball: The Sheridan Lady Broncs haven’t played a game in nearly 2 weeks, because of scheduling and the weather, but now they’re going to start getting into the meat of their schedule.

Head Coach Kristen Czaban says the team now has some idea as to what they’re going to look like in terms of being on the field and the batting order.

This weekend Sheridan takes on both Casper teams.

Natrona County made it to the state tournament last year, and Kelly Walsh did not.

Coach Czaban says while it may be difficult to get some sort of read on those teams so far this season, the Lady Broncs will take the same approach going into this weekend’s games.

Friday’s start times at Natrona County are at 3:45 and 6pm.

Saturday’s games at home vs. Kelly Walsh are scheduled to begin at Noon and 2pm.

Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers found themselves in a number of situations on opening weekend, and overcame them to win their first 3 games of the season.

The biggest challenge was rallying from a 7-run deficit to win Sunday’s game vs. Miles City.

Junior Blaine Phillips says skill had some to do with it, but also the team’s mindset and attitude.

Head Coach Austin Cowen says for the April and May portion of the schedule, the Troopers take more of a spring training approach to games, but the competition this past weekend provided worthy challenges.

Sheridan next plays 2 games Saturday and 1 on Sunday at Rapid City Post 22.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies had an off day on the schedule yesterday.

The team will begin a 3-game series at home vs. Milwaukee today.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm.
