Sheridan Mavericks/Lady Mavericks Lacrosse: The Sheridan Mavericks lacrosse team has been practicing for about 1 month and will head to Billings on Saturday for a pair of games.

Last year the Mavs finished 3rd at the end of the regular season in the Montana High School Lacrosse League, but stumbled in the first round of the state tournament and finished 6th.

Head Coach J.R. Wright says one of the goals for the team this year is to not get caught up in their own success.

Meanwhile the Sheridan Lady Mavericks have an extra week to prepare and don’t start competition until next weekend.

Head Coach Brianna Scholl says numbers for this year’s team are a bit on the low side, but it’ll be interesting to see how opponents come after them considering how things turned around last year compared to the year before.

Sheridan was last year’s Montana Division 2 State Champs.
