Lilyahna Hancock Of Sheridan HS To Wrestle At Dickinson State: A multi-sport Sheridan HS Lady Bronc has made her choice on which sport she wants to continue in at the next level.

Lilyahna Hancock, who is also a swimmer, has signed a written offer of athletic aid to compete in women’s wrestling at Dickinson State University in North Dakota.

She just recently completed her second season on the mat, and placed 5th in the 130 pound weight bracket at the state meet.

Hancock wrestled in her junior and senior years of high school and says one of her biggest regrets was not participating in the sport in her sophomore year, when girls wrestling was in its first year as a sanctioned varsity sport.

She adds she’s been swimming since she was 8 years old and explains why wrestling won out.

Hancock says she plans to major in biology.

The Lady Blue Hawks wrestling team recently completed their 2nd season and had 4 athletes compete in the NAIA tournament, with one of them winning a national championship.

Sheridan HS Softball: The Sheridan Lady Broncs went 1-2 with 1 tie in their recent opening weekend of competition.

Head Coach Kristen Czaban explains what the team learned from those games.

Junior Sydney Murner says some of the other softball teams in the state are just realizing that the Lady Broncs now exist.

Sheridan starts northeast quadrant play this weekend.

The team is scheduled to play at Thunder Basin on Friday and at home vs. Campbell County on Saturday, however with the threat of an approaching weather system, there is a possibility that Saturday’s games could be played tomorrow.

Check back with Sheridan Media for any schedule changes as we get them.

Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won last night at home vs. Detroit 5-2.

The Avs next play tomorrow at home vs. the LA Kings.

The team has 10 games remaining on their regular season schedule, with 5 of them home and 5 on the road.

Colorado Rockies Pre-Season Baseball: The Colorado Rockies concluded the pre-season portion of their schedule yesterday with a 5-3 loss at Minnesota.

Hunter Goodman hit a 2-run home run for the cause.

The Rocks finish the pre-season with a record of 17-15.

The 2025 baseball regular season started last week as the LA Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs played a 2-game series in Tokyo.

All other teams, except for Colorado and Tampa Bay start tomorrow.

The Rockies and the Rays start a 3-game series vs. each other on Friday.

The games will be played at the spring training site of the New York Yankees, because Tropicana Field was damaged last year courtesy of Hurricane Milton.
