State Wrestling Tournament: After the first day of the state wrestling tournament in Casper, 6 Sheridan Broncs, 3 Sheridan Lady Broncs and 2 Tongue River Eagles have advanced to today’s semi-final round in their respective weight classes.

In the team standings, the Sheridan boys are in 7th place, the Sheridan girls are in 2nd and the Tongue River boys are in 9th.

Most of todays’ action, both this morning and afternoon, will be consolation round matches.

The semi-finals start at 6pm.

Tomorrow, consolation matches start at 10:30am, and that will be immediately followed by the 3rd and 5th place matches.

The championship matches are scheduled to begin at 2:30pm.

Sheridan HS Basketball: The Sheridan Broncs and Lady Broncs will conclude their regular season tomorrow at Thunder Basin.

The girls game is scheduled to tip off at 3:30pm and the boys game will follow.

Big Horn/Tongue River/Arvada-Clearmont HS Basketball: At the 2A East Regional Tournament at Moorcroft yesterday, the Big Horn boys defeated Moorcroft 72-19.

The Rams will play in the semi-finals against Sundance at 1pm.

The winner is in next weekend’s state tournament.

The Tongue River boys lost their first round game vs. Pine Bluffs 59-39.

The Eagles will play today against the Big Horn/Sundance loser at 7pm.

The winner of that game is in the state tournament, while the loser is done for the season.

On the girls side, Big Horn won against Wright 51-35.

The Tongue River girls had a first round bye.

In the semi-finals today, it’s round 3 between BH and TR starting at 11:30am.

The winner is in the state tournament.

The loser is not eliminated, and will have a second chance to punch their ticket to Casper, if that team can beat Moorcroft starting at 5:30pm.

At the 1A East Regional Tournament at Upton, the Arvada-Clearmont girls lost in their first round game yesterday vs. Southeast 45-26.

The Lady Panthers play Hulett today at 9am in an elimination game.

Should they survive that, they would have to play and win another elimination game tomorrow at 8am to qualify for the 1A State Tournament.

Sheridan HS Nordic Ski: The State Meet is today and tomorrow at Laramie.

The 5K race is today starting at 10am.

The 10K race is tomorrow at the same time.

Last year the Sheridan boys team placed 5th and the girls were 6th.


Sheridan County HS Indoor Track and Field: Sheridan and Big Horn competed yesterday at the Park County Invitational Meet at Gillette.

The Broncs finished 1st out of 12 teams and the girls were 2nd.

The State Meet is next weekend at Gillette.

Big Horn and Tongue River will compete in the 3A competition, which will take place on Thursday and Friday, while Sheridan will have their turn on Friday and Saturday.


Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: This weekend is a big one for the Sheridan Hawks.

Not only is today and tomorrow their regular season home finale, they are hosting the defending NA3HL champs out of Helena.

The opposition has already locked down the #1 seed for the playoffs.

Sheridan can secure the #2 seed with 2 wins this weekend.

The puck drops today and tomorrow at 7:30pm.


Sheridan Hawks Amateur Hockey: The Sheridan Hawk boys are at the Wyoming B State Tournament today, tomorrow and Sunday at Cody.

The team will play Casper in the first round starting at 3pm.

The Lady Hawks will play in their state tournament next weekend at Pinedale.


University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys play in their regular season home finale tomorrow as the team takes on San Diego State.

Tip off is scheduled for 6pm.

Because of the Sheridan HS basketball games going on at the same time, the UW men’s game will air on Fox Sports 106.3FM.

Tomorrow is also Round 2 of the women’s Border War as the Wyoming Cowgirls play at Colorado State.

Tip off is also scheduled for 6pm.

Both teams are currently tied for 2nd place in the Mountain West Conference.


Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets lost last night at Milwaukee 121-112.

The Nuggets next play today at Detroit.

Tip off is scheduled for 5pm.

On Sunday, Denver plays at Boston, beginning at 11am.


Colorado Rockies Pre-Season Baseball: The Colorado Rockies shut out the LA Dodgers at home yesterday 2-zip.

The Rocks next play today at Cleveland starting at 1:05pm, tomorrow at Arizona beginning at 1:10pm and on Sunday at home vs. Seattle, also at 1:10pm.
