Sheridan County HS Football: Today is Football Friday, on Friday September 13th, and the day does have some historical significance.

This evening, the Sheridan Broncs will put their 33-game winning streak on the line, on the road at Natrona County.

If the Broncs win, they will tie Laramie’s record for longest winning streak in Wyoming High School Football State history.

The Plainsmen did it from 1959 to 1963, but it was on this exact day in 1963, when that streak ended and it ended at Natrona County in shutout fashion.

Kickoff for today’s game is scheduled for 7pm.

You can watch a LIVE video stream of the game at sheridanmedia.com.

Shane Parker will also have the radio play-by-play on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

Meanwhile both of Sheridan County’s 2A teams will start conference play on their own home fields today.

Tongue River hosts Burns beginning at 1pm and Big Horn hosts Wheatland at 6pm.

Sheridan County HS Volleyball: Sheridan will play their home and conference opener today.

The Lady Broncs host Cheyenne East beginning at 6pm.

Last night Big Horn swept Pine Bluffs 3-0 in their home opener.

Today and tomorrow is the Big Horn Invitational.

The Lady Rams, Tongue River and every 2A East team, will take every 2A West team except for Wyoming Indian.

Matches start as early as 9am both days and will be played at the High School, Middle School and Elementary School.

As for Arvada-Clearmont, they play today and tomorrow at the 1A Invitational which is being played at Saratoga and at Encampment.

The Lady Panthers play today vs. Hulett, Farson-Eden and Dubois.

Tomorrow they’ll take on Lingle-Ft. Laramie, Encampment and Little Snake River.

Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks started the 2024-25 season last weekend with a road split at Great Falls.

The team won the first game 4-3 and dropped the second game 3-1.

Head Coach J.J. Santagata explains what went right and what went wrong.

Up next for the Hawks is a home and home series vs. Gillette.

The Wild played in the Frasier Cup tournament last season as the league’s lone wild card team, and made it to the semi-finals.

After one weekend of play this season, Gillette is off to an uncharacteristic 0-2 start and lead the NA3HL in penalty minutes with 76 compared to Sheridan’s 24.

Coach Santagata says when it comes to playing the Wild, those stats usually don’t matter.

The puck drops today at Gillette at 7:05pm.

Tomorrow’s home opener is scheduled to start at 7:30pm.

University Of Wyoming Football/Mountain West Conference: Tomorrow the Wyoming Cowboys will renew their rivalry against BYU.

Kickoff in Laramie is scheduled for 7pm.

You can hear the game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

Two years from now the scope of the Mountain West Conference will look different.

Yesterday it was announced that Colorado State, Boise State, Fresno State and San Diego State will leave to join the PAC 12 conference and will officially be members starting in 2026.

The University of Wyoming Athletic Department has not yet issued an official statement regarding the announcement.

Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos will play their home opener this Sunday against Pittsburgh.

Kickoff is scheduled for 2:25pm and you can hear that game LIVE on Fox Sports 106.3 FM.

Jordan Beck hit a solo home run to get the scoring started.

The Rocks now enter the stretch run of their season as the team plays 12 of their final 15 games at home, beginning today with a 3-game series against the Chicago Cubs.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm.

Tomorrow’s game is scheduled to start at 6:10pm and Sunday’s game starts at 1:10pm.

As far as the standings go, none of the remaining games matter, as Colorado is now guaranteed to finish in last place in the NL West.
