Sheridan WYO Rodeo: Another edition of the Sheridan WYO Rodeo is in the books and the winners are collecting their paychecks.
The bareback winner was R.C. Landingham who is currently ranked #3 in the world standings.
Kodie Jang from Australia won the Steer Wrestling.
Will McBride from Ogallala, Nebraska won the Steer Roping Event.
Zach Dallas from New Mexico won the big paycheck in Saddle Bronc Riding.
The Bray boys from Texas were the top team ropers.
Luke Potter out of Kansas won the tie-down competition and moved up to #9 in the world standings.
The top bull rider during the Sheridan WYO Rodeo was Lukasey Morris out of Oklahoma, who now ranked #10.
Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers won both ends of a conference double-header at home vs. Rock Springs this past Saturday.
In the first game, Avon Barney had 5 RBI’s, to help the Troopers score in every inning, as Sheridan would win 17-4.
In the second game, Dyson Murner had 3 RBI’s and pitched a complete game, striking out 8 in the process, to help Sheridan win 8-1.
Today’s games at Powell have been canceled.
The team is back in action tomorrow, with a conference double-header at Jackson.
First pitch is scheduled for 1pm.
The next home game is scheduled for this coming Sunday.
It’s a home double-header vs. Gillette, starting at 5pm.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies ended up losing 2 out of 3 games this past weekend at the New York Mets.
On Friday, the Rocks lost 7-6.
All of their runs were courtesy of the long ball, but it was not enough.
Michael Toglia and Brenton Doyle each hit 2-run shots, while Brendan Rodgers and Charlie Blackmon had solo home runs.
On Saturday, Colorado lost 7-3.
Again, all runs scored were the home run variety.
Jake Cave left the park by himself, and Blackmon launched a 2-run homer.
Yesterday, the Rockies hit 6 home runs, and ended up winning 8-5.
Toglia hit 3 of them, all of them were solo shots.
Ezequiel Tovar had 2 2-run blasts, and Doyle had 1 solo home run of his own.
The Rocks enter the All-Star break with a record of 34-63 and they trail the LA Dodgers by 22 games in the NL West.
The All-Star Game will be played tomorrow in Arlington, Texas.
Third baseman Ryan McMahon is the lone Colorado representative on the NL team.
Tonight is the home run derby.
After the All-Star break, the Rockies will be back in action on Friday, as the team starts a 6-game homestand with 3 games vs. San Francisco, followed by 3 vs. Boston.
