Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball Team dropped a pair of games yesterday at Omaha, Nebraska.

In the first game, Sheridan managed 7 hits, but could not produce any runs and ended up getting shut out by Fargo, North Dakota 6-zip.

In the second game, Tyler Riesen pitched a complete game 7-innings, but the Troopers only managed 3 hits and lost to Bryant, Arkansas 3-1.

Head Coach Austin Cowen says the trip this week isn’t all games.

The team will find some recreational activity, and of course since they’re in Omaha, the team will also try to catch a College World Series game, which can be quite an experience.

Sheridan will play 2 more back-to-back games today at Millard North High School.

The Troopers will take on the host team at 5pm and then afterwards they’ll play Brandon Valley, South Dakota, which is located just east of Sioux Falls.

Sheridan HS’s Lilly Charest Wins State Pole Vault: One Sheridan High School junior launched herself to a state title last month.

Lilly Charest is this year’s 4A Girls Pole Vault State Champ, with a winning vault of 11 feet 9 inches.

It was not her best of the season, but she’ll take it because she says she’s having fun and has another year to go

The 12-7 mark that she set at the regional meet, would have been a new overall state record, had she done it at the state meet.

The rule is that in order to set or break a state record in Wyoming High School Track and Field, you have to do it at the state meet.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies got a walk-off win last night at home vs. LA Dodgers 7-6.

Michael Toglia hit a 3-run home run to get the scoring started in the 1st inning.

Then with the score tied in the bottom of the 9th, Brenton Doyle was able to bring in Jake Cave on a sacrifice fly for the win.

Today, the Rocks will try to salvage a split in the 4-game series.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:10pm.
