Lady Bronc Thrower Wins a 4A State Title / Troopers Play Five Games in Gillette This Weekend / Rockies fall Against the Marlins

TRACK AND FIELD – A Sheridan high school track and field thrower is among the best in the state.
Last week at the outdoor track and field state meet, Josaphine Ankney won the 4A girls shot put title with a throw of 42 9 1/2 inches that distance ended up being the best of the best in all classes.

She placed 3rd at the indoor state meet in early March, but she says once she got outside things got better from there.

Ankney will continue her track and field career at the University of Charleston Southern in South Carolina.

TROOPER BASEBALL – Sheridan Troopers Head coach Austin Cowen says the players had a great day Tuesday helping out all the T-ball players at the Sheridan county YMCA.

The Troops are on the road this for a tournament during the Memorial day weekend in Gillette they will play Gillette tomorrow to kickoff the event and have games with Bozeman, Montana, Jackson Saturday and Monday they face Powell and Laurel, Montana and Cowen says playing all these games over the extended weekend is just what the troopers need right now.

The Troops next home date is Saturday June 3rd when they host a double header with Cody game times will be at 1:00 and 3:00.

2023 HOOP JAM – Registration is still open for next weekend’s 3 on 3 Hoop Jam basketball tournament, the event is held outdoors at Sherdian high school, the registration deadline is next Tuesday to sign up a team go to the web site

ROCKIES BASEBALL – The Colorado Rockies got beat the 10-2 last night by the Miami Marlins, the series ends with a day game today with the first pitch is at 1:10, you can hear the Rockies this season on Smart Talk 106.3 FM.
