Graveside funeral services for Virgil Todd, 94-year-old lifetime Wyoming resident who passed away Tuesday evening at the Chapman Hospice Home in Casper will be held Wednesday, February 11th, at 2:00 p.m. in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo with Pastor William Dunlap officiating. Visitation will be held at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Donations in Virgil’s memory may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place in Memphis, Tennessee 38105.  Online condolences may be made at www.harnessfuneralhome.com.

Virgil Curtis Todd was born in July 1931 in Buffalo, Wyoming to George and Marian Todd. He grew up and went to school in Buffalo and graduated from Johnson County High School with the class of 1949.  After high school, he went to work in the oil fields in Wyoming, where he worked his entire career.  He was married on November 15, 1950, in Buffalo to Joyce Wilson, and they made their home in Kimble, Nebraska for nine years and in May of 1968 they moved to Lander where Virgil worked for Amoco Oil Company. Virgil was integral in the construction of the Lander Valley Baptist Church. Joyce passed away in May of 1987 and Virgil continued living in Lander until his death. Virgil was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing.  He is survived by one brother, Stanley Todd and his wife Felicie of Buffalo, and one sister Alta Groskup of Powell, Wyoming.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two daughters.
