Larry Thomas Lowe

Larry Thomas Lowe, 85, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the VA Medical Center in Sheridan, WY.

Larry was born on September 3, 1940, in Springfield, MO to Charles Guy Lowe and Opal Lovelace. He married Bernice Grant in Sundance, WY on December 2, 1960. They had two children: a son Grant Christopher and a daughter Misty Dawn.

Larry enlisted in the Air Force in 1959 for four years. He spent the first eighteen months in Guam at Anderson Air Force Base. He then moved to Rapid City and landed his first commitment at Ellsworth Air Force Base. He was discharged from the Air Force on March 30, 1964. Larry worked at the Black Hills army depot in Igloo, S.D., helping to phase it out of operation.

Larry moved from Igloo, S.D. to Boulder, CO, where he had a job waiting for him at the National Bureau of Standards (NBS). Larry and Bernie bought their first house in Boulder in 1966 and moved to Wyoming in 1972.

Larry is survived by his son, Grant (Misty) of Greeley, CO, daughter Misty (Cody) Snyder of Buffalo, WY, granddaughter Taylor (Aaron) Bicknese and great granddaughters Avery and Reese of Gillette. WY, granddaughter Jessica (Patrick) Montaya, great grandkids Bradley and Allison of Severance, CO. His Grandson, Devin Lowe and Ashleigh Molinaro, Milliken, CO.
