Amelia Grace Palmer, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, and friend, returned to her Heavenly home on September 1, 2025, at the age of thirteen. Her irresistible sparkle and joyful spirit blessed all who knew her, and she will forever be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and radiant smile served best with a side of sass.

Amelia, affectionately called “Mimi,” was their miracle baby and the cherished only daughter in her family of brothers. Delivered at home by her father, her arrival was full of surprises from the very beginning. She grew up surrounded by love, faith, fun, and hard work, and she eagerly joined her family in every adventure. From the time she was two, she was skiing down snowy slopes, tubing behind the boat in the summers, and later playing soccer, basketball, cello, choir, and —gymnastics where she excelled as a beam and vault powerhouse at state competitions.

Yet, Mimi’s true and lasting love was always for horses and animals. Even as a little girl, she would go out every day to greet her horse Charm, often slipping on boots without socks to run out in her pajamas and feed her first thing in the morning. She belonged to the Western Riding Club and the Boots and Bullseyes 4-H Club, and her dedication led to many accomplishments. In 2023, she was crowned Western Riding Club Mini Queen, followed by Treasure Valley Rodeo Mini Queen in 2024. In 2025, she proudly competed for Miss Junior Rodeo Idaho, earning 2nd Runner-Up along with Miss Congeniality and earning best written test score. She loved the blend of academic knowledge, grit, dust, and sparkle that came with rodeo queening and the contents. Through all of this, she blossomed into a confident, self-assured young woman.  One of her favorite things about rodeo queening is she had a lot of sash sisters, and being the only girl that meant a lot to her.

Family was at the very heart of Mimi’s life. She was inseparable from her brothers and parents. And had special bonds with her cousins of all ages, but especially the ones her age.  Her “Jorgensen cousin crew” had a group chat this last year that has been highly entertaining, and her Palmer girl cousins were like sisters to her.  At family gatherings, Mimi delighted in entertaining and caring for her younger cousins, stepping naturally into a “big sister” role, especially for all her younger girl cousins who adored her. She had a gift for including everyone and making them feel special.

Mimi was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she loved being part of the Young Women program. Her cheerful, friendly spirit made her a friend to all—young and old—and she will be remembered for her happy glow, her kindness, and her ability to make everyone feel loved. She was also friendly to everyone at school.  On her locker was a post-it note, from another student.  “You made me feel like me” is the best summary of Amelia. She loved and accepted all.

Amelia is deeply missed by her parents, Earl and Cindy Palmer; her brothers Andrew, Aiden, Adam, and younger brother Aeron; her grandparents Earl Sr. and Diana Palmer, and Bryce and Beth Jorgensen; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who were blessed to know her.

Though her time on earth was far too short, Amelia filled her years with laughter, courage, kindness, and love. Her light continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all who love her.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 17, at 1:00 p.m. in Sheridan, Wyoming (2051 Colonial Dr), with a viewing beginning at 12:30 p.m. All who wish to honor her life are welcome to attend. Online condolences may be made to www.sheridanfuneral.com. Arrangements are under the care of Sheridan Funeral Home.
