Three Sheridan County Resident Deaths Attributed to COVID-19

The Wyoming Department of Health on Tuesday confirmed the deaths of three Sheridan County residents attributed to COVID-19. An older adult woman died in late January. She was hospitalized and had health conditions known to put patients at higher risk of severe illness. Two older adult males died in January. Both men had health conditions known to put patients at higher risk of severe illness. This brings the number of Sheridan County resident deaths to 68.
Sheridan County added 14 lab confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours and an additional eight probable cases, bringing the total number of active cases in Sheridan County to 109, which includes the active probable cases. There are currently nine individuals hospitalized in Sheridan County battling the virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention rates the level of community transmission in Sheridan County as high.
Deaths among Wyoming residents are added to the state’s coronavirus-related death total based on the location of a person’s permanent residence and official death certificate information. If death certificates do not describe COVID-19 as either causing or contributing to a person’s death, those deaths are not included in Wyoming’s count of coronavirus-related deaths.
