Sheridan County’s November 2021 Unemployment Numbers Drop; Johnson County Up Slightly

For the fifth month in a row, the unemployment rate is down in Wyoming, but numbers in a few counties went up.

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services says the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Wyoming dropped from 4.1% in October 2021 to 3.7% in November.

That percentage is below the national rate of 4.2%.

Albany and Weston Counties had the lowest unemployment rate in the Cowboy State at 1.7% each, while Natrona County had the highest rate at 3.1%.

Sheridan County had a 2.1% unemployment rate for November 2021.

That’s down from 2.3% in October, and down from 3.9% in November of 2020.

Johnson County had a 2.3% unemployment rate for November 2021.

That’s up from 2.2% in October, but down from 4.2% in November of 2020.

The county was one of 4 in Wyoming, that had its unemployment rate increase from October to November.

The Department of Workforce Services adds that the number of nonfarm employment in the state was up by 2,700 jobs in November 2021, compared to November 2020.
