Sheridan County reports no new cases in the last 24 hours, SMH to stop administering the Moderna vaccine

Sheridan County reports no additional lab confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, leaving the total count to 4,476 lab confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
In the last 24 hours, no probable cases have been reported. That total stands at 1,378.
Currently there are 47 active cases in the Sheridan County Community and 59 deaths of Sheridan County residents attributed to COVID-19.
There are currently seven patients in the hospital fighting the virus. COVID-19 Public Information Officer Jennifer Graves reports 12 residents have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours.
During a leadership meeting on Dec. 9, Chief Medical Officer of Sheridan Memorial Hospital Dr. John Addlesperger informed the public that the vaccination clinic will no longer administer the Moderna vaccine.
In October of this year, Moderna released a statement saying U.S. regulators delayed their decision on Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine for 12 to 17 year-olds while they study the rare risk of heart inflammation.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration told the company that its review could last until January.
The FDA advises that individuals who are 16 and 17 years of age should only receive the Pfizer vaccine or Comirnaty as their booster dose.
