County Satisfied With Hazelton Overlay Project

The Johnson County Commission has voted to sign off on the Hazelton Road Overlay Project, on the recommendation of Road & Bridge Supervisor Scott Pehringer.

Commission Chair Bill Novotny spoke about the completed project.

According to discussions at an earlier meeting, the scope of work was a “piggyback” project on WYDOT’s Highway 16 pavement project where WYDOT did a pavement overlay on Hazelton Road from Highway 16 to the Billy Creek Access Road with the county doing the shoulder work on the road.

This is a continuation of the long-term project to complete the parking area and other improvements on Hazelton Road.

The cost to the county for the project was roughly $114,000 according to earlier discussions.
