JCHC Gives Updated COVID Info at EOC Briefing

Johnson County Healthcare Center CEO Sean McCallister gave an update on COVID-19 at the facility, how it is affecting them, and how they are coping with the pandemic issue.
McCallister said they are preparing for a surge in cases now that the Thanksgiving Holiday has passed.
The current inpatient census at the hospital is eight patients, three of which are Covid-positive.
They have seven positive employees.
Staffing is still mostly stable but the facility is struggling in a few departments where they are short-staffed.
The facility has dealt with one asymptomatic patient during the last week.
McCallister said the census at the Amie Holt Care Center is 38 residents, but they will remain on isolation until December 11th due to another staff member that tested positive for the virus.
We will have more from the EOC briefing in upcoming stories.
