Chief Adriaens Discusses How Training Has Changed Over the Years

Police training has come under intense scrutiny following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25. City of Sheridan Police Chief Rich Adriaens, while a guest on our news talk show Public Pulse Wednesday, discussed how training has evolved during his 37 years in the business.

Chief Adriaens said that while training has changed over the years, human nature for the most part, hasn’t.

Chief Adriaens announced in July that he would be retiring from active police work after 37 years in law enforcement. Adriaens has been chief of police for the Sheridan Police Department since March of 2010. His last day will be Friday, September 18.
