Small Group Weight Training Returns to the Y
For some people, the intimidation of weight training or uncertainty about where to begin can be a barrier to getting fit. The Sheridan County YMCA has brought back a program designed for adults that focuses on motivation, education and community.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan County YMCA Executive Director Liz Cassiday discussed the return of the small group free weight strength training class.

Cassiday said the class emphasizes teamwork as a way to stay motivated and achieve results while building lasting connections. The program combines classroom instruction with practical workouts and requires consistent attendance, with participants holding one another accountable.
Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1 p.m. in the main weight room at the YMCA. Each month serves as its own session. Those wishing to participate can register online or at the front desk.
