Senator Barrasso said that a challenge that scientists face is converting fusion energy into electricity, as to date, no fusion reactor has made it to this stage, yet several fusion companies expect to put electrons on the grid in the next decade.
The hearing featured testimony from U.S. Department of Energy Associate Director of the Office of Fusion Energy Services Dr. Jean Paul Allain, Director of Public Affairs at Helion Energy Jackie Siebens, and Dr. Patrick White, Research Director, Nuclear Innovation Alliance.
