Sheridan College presents artist talk and opening reception with Jodi Lightner

The Arts at Sheridan College is inviting the public to attend as they present “Editing Edifices,” an exhibition of works by Jodi Lightner. 

An artist talk will begin at 4 p.m., followed by an opening reception at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8. Lightner’s works will be on display at the Edward A. Whitney Gallery inside the Whitney Center for Arts until March 20.

Lightner is a professor of art and the head of the Art Department at Montana State University in Billings, Montana. She received a master’s degree in fine arts at Wichita State University and continues her studio practice in Montana and New York.  

In addition to her studies and residencies around the United States, Lightner has also spent time at the International School of Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture in Montecastello diVibio, Italy.  She has exhibited her work in New York, California, Oregon, Kansas, Montana, Michigan, Missouri, Georgia, South Carolina, Germany, China, and Italy. In 2021, she was awarded the Artist Innovation Award by the Montana Arts Council.
