Two Motorists Killed In Single Vehicle Rollover On I-90 At Piney Creek Road Exit

Driver fatigue is being investigated as a contributing factor in a single vehicle roll-over in Northern Johnson County that resulted in the deaths of two people.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol says at around 3AM Monday (October 16th), 55-year old Sonja Foote and 52-year old Ricki Foote, both from Washington State, were in their pickup truck heading westbound on I-90 and had just passed the Piney Creek Road off-ramp, when Sonja drove off of the right side of the road, and the front passenger side struck a guardrail.
The vehicle then rotated clockwise over the guardrail, and the vehicle tripped and rolled down a steep embankment.
When it bottomed out on its passenger side, it then rolled 3 times, crossing the off ramp in the process and eventually came to a rest on its wheels.
Both occupants of the vehicle were wearing their seat belts at the time of the incident and remained inside the vehicle, but neither person survived their injuries.
There were no witnesses to the incident, however, another motorist who was driving on the off-ramp sometime afterwards, noticed the wreckage and called 911.
This brings Wyoming’s 2023 Vehicle Fatality Count to 113, compared to 107 in 2022.
