Flood Watch Issued For Sheridan/Johnson Counties And SE Montana: May 10-13, 2023

Residents who live in flood prone areas and/or along waterways need to pay attention to upcoming weather activity.

The National Weather Service Office in Billings, Montana has issued a flood watch for Sheridan County in Wyoming, as well as a number of counties in southeast Montana.

Also the National Weather Service Office in Riverton, has issued a flood watch for Johnson County.

The watch is in effect from 6pm Wednesday (May 10th) until 6am Saturday (May 13th).

A strong storm system is supposed to bring heavy rainfall to the area, with rainfall totals expected to be between two to three inches.

Heavy rain will cause rivers and streams to rise aggressively with flooding possible.

The Weather Service is forecasting 6-to-12 inches of snow will fall in areas above 8-thousand feet.

Montana cities and towns in the flood watch area include Hardin, Ashland, Colstrip, Crow Agency, Lame Deer, Broadus, Forsyth and Miles City.
