The main entrance to the Sheridan Memorial Hospital will soon have a new look.
On Wednesday, March 22nd, the Hospital Board Of Trustees approved a motion to redesign the front entrance, lobby and check-in area of the hospital.
Currently the check-in desk in the lobby is right by the main entrance, and there’s been a recent increase in patient check-ins in that area, thus sometimes the lobby gets crowded and patient privacy is sometimes difficult to ensure.
Hospital President Mike McCafferty says the redesign project is so that there can be a better patient experience at check-in.
“With some of our increased activity that we’ve had, that front space hasn’t been able to accommodate that increasive volume and so, we’re going to be moving it into a more private space, just around the corner and there’ll be more room for people to be taken care of, so we’ll have private admission spaces and we’ll have multiple private admission spaces.”
McCafferty adds the project is estimated to cost about $71,000.
He says he anticipates that project to start in the next month or two and take about six weeks to complete.
