Among the bills that Governor Gordon signed into law on Wednesday (February 15th), two of them involve Wyoming’s Community Colleges.

House Bill 28 raises the minimum cost of community college construction projects, which require approval from the Wyoming Community College Commission, from $100-thousand to $250-thousand.

This includes renovation projects and capital renewal, as well as the acquisition of real property by either purchase or exchange.

This new law is now in effect.

House Bill 29 amends Wyoming Statute 21-18-102 subsection A-17.

Beginning July 1st, it will say a community college class which qualifies as a distance education class, shall be considered a level one, level 2 or level 3 class as determined by the content of the course.

The new law also eliminates subsection A-18-A of the statute.

The full-time weighted equivalence for distance education class credit hours for calculations in the community college funding allocation model has been eliminated.
