The City of Buffalo’s project to improve the alleyways in the downtown corridor has been awarded to Barnum Construction of Buffalo.

Larry Joubert with the Public Works Department recommended the city award the contract to Barnum for their bid of $304,595.

Mayor Shane Schrader said the city had received five bids on the project, ranging from a high bid of just under $573,000 down to the winning bid.

In a later interview, he explained the project further.

The alleys are to be redone in concrete, according to Schrader.

The project is expected to begin in the spring of 2023.

I live on N.Carrington Avenue, when is our street ever going to be repaved? Have lived here for 6 years and the street has always been a mess of very large pot holes that only ever gets patched. We not only have personal vehicle traffic but large 18 wheeler trucks that cause most of the damage. Remember, we who live on N. Carrington pay taxes too.
