Aaron PalmerThe City of Sheridan is collaborating with the Sheridan Public Arts Committee in creating a virtual experience that will allow the public to interact with city sculptures, art, and now-and-then experiences with points of interest in downtown Sheridan.
While a recent guest on our talk show Public Pulse, City Administrator Stu McRae explained that one of the city’s streets supervisors, Trai Bryant, developed an app that will display the city sculptures and art that people can view on their phones.
He explained more about the Now and Then experience that utilizes brass markers at points of interest.
McRae said the city will install brass plates with an icon of an old tripod camera and a QR Code at these camera points that when scanned will take the user to an app with all of the public art, hidden gems, and historic photos in it.
The final touches are being worked on and the hope is to have the project up and running in the spring of 2023.
