Aaron PalmerState Senator Dave Kinskey (R-Sheridan) attended the Buffalo City Council meeting Tuesday evening to discuss the upcoming Legislative Session which starts next Monday, February 10th in Cheyenne.
Kinskey said this year’s session, a budget session, will be a tough one, as the state’s finances are not in good shape.
Some of the issues he will be paying particular attention to during the session, he said, will be the Direct Distribution Funds for local governments, and trying to push through a new formula to help smaller communities with more funding.
He said the legislature will be looking at mineral tax bills and how they might be collected, jobs through the Wyoming Works program, and safety on Sussex Road in southern Johnson County, among other issues that are relevant to Sheridan and Johnson Counties.
We will have more from Senator Kinskey’s discussion with the city council in upcoming stories.
