There was a good crowd for the 2022 Sheridan WYO Rodeo Parade on Friday, July 15. New parade goers and those who have been coming for many years lined the streets to watch the bed races, Sneakers and Spurs race, and the parade.
Sgt. Landon Maedge, Wyoming Army National Guard recruiter, who moved from Illinois to Wyoming with his wife, Grace, about a year and a half ago said this would be their first WYO Parade.
Bud Jelly, John Mclean, and John Beasley have been coming for many years. Mclean said he began coming in 1976, around 45 years ago.
Jelly commented on the parades throughout the years.
John Beasley has been attending since the 1960s. “I went to school here, grew up here but I moved in and out of Sheridan over the years, but I always called this home.” He has lived here continuously since 1999. He talked about one change he has seen over the years.
Even the dogs enjoyed parade day. Mimi Robinson and her dog Gracie are from California and they are visiting friends in Big Horn this week and are having a good time on parade day.
Cindy Neilson, who has been coming to the parade since she was a little girl, felt that there were not a whole lot of changes.
She was accompanied by family members, Lyn and Mike Foss, from out-of-town, and friend Angel Horsley from Sheridan.
