Historical Society to Present Program on State Flag

The Johnson County Historical Society will offer a program focusing on the Wyoming State Flag, presented by a local historian later this month in Buffalo.

“The Wyoming Flag and the Women Who Made it Fly” will be presented by Kylie McCormick on Tuesday, February 11th at 6:30 pm at the Johnson County Library.

McCormick is an historian based in Casper, and holds a a Masters degree in History.

She is dedicated to education and Wyoming History.

This program is being co-sponsored by the Johnson County Historical Society and the Johnson County Library, through a local history benefactor.

According to a flier for the event, Buffalo became the birthplace of the Wyoming State Flag when Verna Keays Keyes entered and won a contest for a flag design offered by the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The event is free and open to the public.
