One Northern Cheyenne tribal teen is dead and another injured after being involved in a vehicle crash on the Crow Indian Reservation.
According to family members and tribal police, at around 4am Saturday (May 21st), 15-year old Mylei Birdinground and 16-year-old Wylie Spang left a family member’s home in Crow Agency, and were heading home on US Highway 212 towards Busby, but never arrived at their destination.
On Monday, Birdinground’s uncle noticed tire tracks going off the side of 212, near mile marker 12, and found the vehicle in a ravine.
Birdinground was pronounced dead at the scene and was the driver of the vehicle.
Spang, who was the passenger, was airlifted to a Billings hospital.
The extent of his injuries are unknown.
Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the crash to happen.
