Sheridan County High School Volleyball Recap: Regional Tournaments 2021

Two volleyball teams from Sheridan County have qualified for the state tournament in Casper.

Big Horn:

The Lady Rams are the 2A East Regional Tournament Champions after defeating Wright 3-0 in the first round (25-20, 25-19, 25-16), Moorcroft 3-1 in the semi-finals (18-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-21) and Sundance in the championship 3-2 (24-26, 25-14, 25-22, 14-25, 21-19).

BH is 20-12-1 on the season and will play Shoshoni in the first round of the state tournament on Thursday, November 4th at 3pm.

Tongue River:

The Lady Eagles placed 4th at the 2A East Regional Tournament.

TR defeated Glenrock in the first round 3-2 (25-21, 25-19, 21-25, 23-25, 15-9), then lost vs. Sundance in the semi-finals 3-2 (17-25, 26-24, 25-22, 14-25,15-10).

That put the team in the consolation bracket in an elimination game vs. Wright, but Tongue River prevailed 3-0 (25-23, 25-14, 25-13) to qualify for the state tournament.

TR then lost vs. Moorcroft in the 3rd place game 3-2 (23-25, 25-23, 25-22, 26-28, 15-7).

The Lady Eagles have a record of 15-11-2 and will play Riverside in the first round of the state tournament on Thursday, November 4th at 7:30pm.

Sheridan:

The Lady Broncs season came to an end at the 4A East Regional Tournament at Campbell County.

Sheridan lost in the first round vs. Cheyenne East 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-21), and then lost in the consolation round vs. Cheyenne Central 3-2 (14-25, 20-25, 25-12, 25-19, 15-8) to end the season with a record of 9-22.

Arvada-Clearmont:

Because the Lady Panthers went 0-8 vs. 1A Northeast quadrant opponents, they did not qualify for the regional tournament, and their season ended with a record of 3-16-2.

(#2W) Rocky Mountain vs. (#3E) Moorcroft – 4:30pm

(#2E) Sundance vs. (#3W) Big Piney – 6pm

(#1W) Riverside vs. (#4E) Tongue River – 7:30pm

Friday, November 5th:

Consolation Round:

Big Horn/Shoshoni loser vs. Rocky Mountain/Moorcroft loser – 1pm LOSER OUT!

Sundance/Big Piney loser vs. Riverside/Tongue River loser – 2:30pm LOSER OUT!

Semi-Finals:

Big Horn/Shoshoni winner vs. Rocky Mountain/Moorcroft winner – 4:30pm

Sundance/Big Piney winner vs. Riverside/Tongue River winner – 6pm

Saturday, November 6th:

Matchups TBA based on Friday’s results.
