Riley Roy Prill
Riley Roy Prill, 35, passed away August 31, 2026, in Natrona County.
Riley was born on September 13, 1990, to Rob & E’Lyn (Bilyeu) Prill here in Sheridan Wy.
Riley was creative, smart & so quick witted from an early age. He had a huge heart, curious mind and was an advocate for the underdog. His favorite place to go when he was young was to his Nana & Papa Q’s house out on Big Goose. He was their world, as they were his. Riley loved old classic cars since he was a little boy. He loved to take apart things and hopefully put them back together correctly, that didn’t always happen. He had many adventures. Early in life he loved going to the mountains, campfires, fishing, riding 4-wheelers (he learned the hard way as to why you need to watch where you are going, instead of watching the tires go around, same when riding his bicycle!) He could create almost anything out of legos, cardboard, paper, rocks, whatever he could find to create something. He traveled with his Mom, stepdad, stepbrother to Disneyland, it was his first time seeing the ocean and he fell in love with it then and always said he’d make it back there someday, which he did. He loved nature, mountains, the ocean, streams, those things brought him peace. His dog Sonny was his savior & sidekick in good & bad times. Hopefully, they are reunited with each other now, along with his childhood dogs Sadie & Ginger.
Riley loved music, just like his Mom. He self-taught himself to play guitar and of course was good at it. His artistic talent was out of this world! I cannot put into words just how talented he was. He loved helping people and was an extremely hard worker. The work he loved to do was in the oil fields. His family is SO thankful to Rory Hagerott for being one of his first employers in the oil field business & his friend of many years who gave him so many chances & taught him a lot about the job, plus stood by him through everything.
For the last 20 some years of his life, Riley fought addiction & many demons. Let it be known that his struggles “do not” define the person he was. He fought hard. His Mom and stepdad fought hard and never ever gave up on him. He was loved beyond words. He fought hard for not only himself but his beautiful daughter Kaya Raine and just wanted the best for her even if that meant it was better for him not to be in her life at times. He wrote her letters that were discovered after his passing & in one letter he said, “I just can’t wait to have a normal life and be able to pick you up after work, take you to the store and “Yes, I know you will melt my heart, and get the toy you want, but then you will pick out an even better toy & we will take it to a kid less fortunate”, that was SO him and that huge heart of his.
While trying to get his life back on track, Riley bought a 1998 Heritage Softail Deluxe Harley Davidson. Riding that Harley was his peace of mind, he dearly loved riding. He had met the love of his life, whom he was coming home to and whom he told me, “She’s the ONE, Mom”, Nathali Cantrell, along with their rescue dog, Skye, that Riley had rescued. They were his “HAPPY PLACE.”
He was preceded in death by his favorite Papa “Q” Bilyeu, grandparents Robert & Linda Prill, great grandparents Leroy & Yvonne Prill, numerous family members and friends.
He is survived by his parents Jerry & E’Lyn Martini, daughter Kaya Raine Hoerler of Nebraska, his girlfriend Nathali Cantrell, his favorite NANA, Mona Bilyeu, stepbrothers Jesse (Beth) Martini & Aaron (Ashley) Mines, Trebor Schutte, his father Rob (Tonia) Prill, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and family that loved him dearly.
To my son: I am no longer complete without you here. You were always my best hugger & always said “I love you’s”, I will continue to do what you did and not judge people for where they are at in life or their struggles, I will continue to give to the less fortunate. Addiction & mental health are ignored & I’ll do my best to keep fighting for you & everyone out there struggling. I will never stop listening to music as you know I won’t, & every single time I hear “Simple Man” you know I will think of you. You are with me forever from the day you were born and beyond. You were my pride & joy through good & bad and my support when I needed it. I will never stop loving you, never have, never will. You DID make us proud so many times. I will never forget that good ole’ Jer-Bear was your go to man a lot, sometimes you’d call & just say “Hey Mom can I talk to Jer”..he loves you so much Riley. I pray that you are finally at peace my son, I love you to the moon & back.
Riley would ask that everyone just help those in need, to stop judgement and take time to understand the struggles each person may have. Listen to music and take time with those you love. Rest in peace my beautiful boy.
