One of Sheridan WYO Rodeo’s co-senior princesses and recent Tongue River High School graduate will head to college to throw some weight around.

Isabella Yellowtail has signed her National Letter of Intent (NLI) to join the track and field team at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana.

The events she will participate in include shot put and discus, which is what she’s been doing for the past two years.

She says those two events are unique challenges, and even the slightest improvement is rewarding.

“Testing my strength because with every inch comes mental strength and physical strength. Every inch is a challenge to get. Gaining a foot is really fun to do, but I feel like getting a PR by an inch is really hard to do.”

Yellowtail says she is considering starting a career in physical therapy.
