Sheridan County High School Football: The big game of the week in Wyoming High School football happens this Friday (September 30th), when the undefeated Sheridan Broncs host the undefeated Cheyenne East Thunderbirds.
We will have the game live for you beginning with the pre-game show at about 5:30, on 14-10 KWYO and 106.9 FM plus our live video web stream at sheridanmedia.com.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm.
Elsewhere in Sheridan County, the Tongue River Eagle football team hosts Torrington at 2pm, while Big Horn hosts Wheatland beginning at 6pm.
Sheridan County High School Volleyball: Sheridan will play 3 games in 3 days all on the road this week.
On Thursday the Lady broncs play Green River in Casper at Natrona County High School.
Then on Friday and Saturday they will be in Cheyenne.
First up is Central on Friday, then on Saturday, their opponent is East.
Defending 2A champ Big Horn is back on the court on Friday at home vs. 3A Moorcroft, and then Saturday at home vs. Sundance in a rematch of last year’s 2A state championship game.
Tongue River plays Friday at home vs. Wright, and at Moorcroft on Saturday.
Last night, Arvada-Clearmont won their second game in a row as they defeated the Sheridan Sophomore team 3-to-1.
The Lady Panthers last participated in the state tournament in 2018, and wins have been hard to come by the last few seasons.
Head Coach Payton Vrbas says she’s making sure that her team stays positive and the girls are buying into her philosophy.
“They give it 100% everyday and they’re getting better everyday that we practice and they’re getting used to playing where I’m putting them, so they’re getting there. I usually tell them to go into every game with confidence, not to think of the outcomes that could happen, just to play the game and see what will happen.”
A-C is back on the court this coming Friday at home vs. Upton.
Sheridan County High School Cross-Country: Sheridan and Tongue River will race on Saturday at Miles City, Montana, while Big Horn will race on Saturday at Wright.
Girls Swimming: Sheridan is home on Friday against both Gillette teams, and then Saturday they will swim at Kelly Walsh.
UW Football: The Wyoming Cowboys return to Mountain West Conference play this Saturday at home vs. San Jose State.
Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30pm, and we will have the pre-game show beginning at 4pm on AM 1410 KWYO.
UW Men’s Basketball Practice started this past Monday.
The Cowboys will host a free scrimmage this Saturday beginning at 3pm.
The Pokes return their top 2 scorers from last season in Hunter Maldonado and Graham Ike.
The regular season begins on November 7th at home vs. Colorado Christian.
Denver Broncos: The Denver Broncos play this Sunday at the Las Vegas Raiders.
Kickoff is scheduled for 2:25pm.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies dropped their 3rd straight game last night, losing the opener of a 3-game series at San Francisco 5-to-2.
The Rocks have dropped 7 of their last 8.
First pitch of tonight’s game against the Giants is at 7:45.

Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche lost a 5-to-2 pre-season game at home last night against Minnesota.
They will be back on the ice tonight at 8 o’clock at Las Vegas.
